York City.
According to the 2010
Census,
the county had a population of 949,113, estimated to have increased
to 967,506 by 2019.
According to census data, the per
capita income for
the county in 1999 was $36,726. The American Community Survey lists
Westchester in 2011 with the median household income of $77,006, the
47th highest in the country. The U.S.
Census Bureau reports
that 6.4% of families and 8.7% (2003) of the population were below the poverty
line,
including 26.53% of those under age 18 and 7.60% of those age 65 or
over.
