Bernard Hanft, Esq.

WHAT THE FIVE-JUDGE APPELLATE DIVISION, SECOND DEPARTMENT ATTORNEY-DISCIPLINARY ORDERS LOOK LIKE:

Appellate Division, Second Department's May 11, 1994 decision & order on motion -- granting Grievance Committee application to determine whether Hanft is incapacitated by reason of mental illness or infirmity & directing examination by qualified medical expert choens by Grievance Committee chief counsel -- [five-judge panel: Bracken, Hart, Friedmann, Goldstein, Florio]

Appellate Division, Second Department's October 28, 1994 decision & order on motion  -- immediately suspending Hanft, "on the court's own motion", denying WITHOUT REASONS, Grievance Committee's motion to suspend, as well as denying, WITHOUT REASONS, Hanft's cross-motion to "(1) vacate the decision and order on motion dated May 11,1994 on the ground that it violated the respondent's due process rights because the respondent was denied discovery of the confidential papers upon which that order was issued, (2) stay enforcement of the decision and order on motion dated May 11, 1994 and grant the respondent discovery of the Grievance Committee's application papers, and (3) deny the Grievance Committee's application for a medical suspension based on Dr. Eshkenazi's 'insufficient' report"  -- [five-judge panel: Bracken, Hart, Friedmann, Goldstein, Florio]

Appellate Division, Second Department's December 28, 1994 decion & order on motion  -- denying, WITHOUT REASONS, Hanft's motion "for an order granting leave to reargue and/or renew 'a trial of an issue of fact, namely whether the 'petition' cited in the order issued on May 11, 1994' exists and requiring the petitioner to produce the petition at the hearing of this motion  [five-judge panel: Bracken, Hart, Friedmann, Goldstein, Florio]

Appellate Division, Second Department's May 15, 1995 opinion & order -- disbarring Hanft, upon granting Grievance Committee's motion to confirm referee's report and denying, WITHOUT REASONS, Hanft's cross-motion to disaffirm, whose particulars it does not identify [five-judge panel: Bracken, Hart, Friedmann, Goldstein, Florio]
